The Story Behind Mason’s Essentials: A Story of Love, Growth & Grace
Mason’s Essentials was born out of a season of transformation, love, and resilience.
Founded by Allecia Andrew during her marriage, the brand carries the name “Mason”, a tribute to a chapter in her life that brought forth one of her greatest joys: her daughter, Aanya.
After nearly 30 years working with one of Grenada’s leading companies, Allecia took a leap of faith. With a Master’s in Project Management, a BSc in Marketing, and a passion for agriculture and agri-business, what began as a personal passion soon blossomed into a small business rooted in authenticity, quality, and everyday essentials that make life a little more comforting whilst celebrating the island’s rich culinary heritage.
“Throwing in the towel” wasn’t the end of a career; it was the start of a dream. That dream became Mason’s Essentials, creating condiments that are delectable, economical, and 100% Grenadian.
Though life has since evolved for Allecia, the name Mason’s Essentials remains, not just as a nod to its origins, but as a symbol of continuity, growth, and the love that inspired it.
Today, Mason’s Essentials stands as a celebration of life’s essentials, the things that nourish us, bring us joy, and remind us of the strength found in our stories. Every product is a reflection of that journey, simple, intentional, and made with love.
Why We Exist
In Grenada, relish has long been regarded as little more than a topping for hot dogs and sandwiches. At Mason’s Essentials, we saw something more, and we also saw a gap. For years, every relish on local shelves was imported, leaving Grenadians without a homegrown option that could match the taste and quality they deserved.
That insight inspired us to craft our own: Sweet Relish, Spicy Relish, and Sweet n’ Sour Sauce. Proudly made in Grenada, each one is designed to be as versatile as it is flavourful, perfect for elevating everything from burgers and salads to roasted meats and traditional local dishes. With every bite, they deliver that extra layer of flavour your taste buds have been waiting for.
